MBA course is a very popular course and most of the people are nowadays opting to apply for MBA Entrance Exam. MBA exams are very competitive and all the universities and colleges conduct one or the other type of aptitude test in order to sieve out only the best applicants. While most of the business schools accept the marks of entrance exams like CAT and MAT, there are some universities which prefer to conduct their own entrance exams. One such university is the Symbiosis International University which conducts its own MBA entrance. The exam is known as SNAP or Symbiosis National Aptitude Test. SNAP was first conducted in the year 2007 and in the recent years, the students have said that the exam has become tougher than it was a few years before. Just like any other MBA entrance tests, this too has a very high cutoff and the candidate needs to score a high percentile in order to get a chance to study MBA at the Symbiosis International University.
The exam is chiefly a pen and paper test and is conducted in a single day only. After the results of the written exam are published, three more rounds are conducted. These three rounds are the Group Exercise, Personal Interaction, and Writing Ability Test. The registration for SNAP 2016 will begin from August 22, 2016, and will continue till November 22, 2016.
How to apply
The SNAP 2016 application forms are available only online. All you need to do is visit the official website and register for the examination. After the registration, you need to login into the website and fill up the application form. Fill the form up carefully and then submit it to the website. The next step would be to pay the application fees. You can easily pay the application fee with the help of net banking, credit card or a demand draft. There are two parts of the fees that you would have to pay. The SNAP registration fee is Rs. 1500. Then, you also have to choose the college where you want to pursue your MBA course. You have to pay an amount of Rs. 1000 in order to register to the preferred Symbiosis College.
SNAP is an objective Pen and Paper Test and consists of MCQs. The MBA entrance exam has a total of 180 marks and the time duration of the examination is 2 hours or 120 minutes. The exam consists of 4 sections which include Verbal Ability, Data Interpretation and Quantitative Ability, General Awareness and Logical Reasoning. The first three sections consist of 40 questions with each question containing 1 mark. However, the last section of Logical Reasoning has only 30 questions with each question containing 2 marks. There is also the provision of negative marking. With each wrong answer, you will lose 1/4th of the marks allotted to the question. However, there is no negative marking for the unattempted questions. The cut off of the last few years were quite high and it is expected that this year too, the cut off will be as high as any other MBA Entrance Exam.
