FAQ’s On Joint Counselling for NIT’s, IITs and ISM Dhanbad

The admission to IITs and ISM Dhanbad are based on the JEE Mains score and the candidates who have appeared for JEE Mains and have crossed the JEE Advanced level can opt for the JoSAA 2016 counseling for their admission into the aforesaid mentioned colleges. Back then in 2014, the Joint Admission Board (JAB) and the Central Seat Allocation Board (CASB) separately facilitated the counseling; however, from the Academic Year 2015-2016, the two bodies have joined hands to facilitate the counseling for admission into ISM Dhanbad, IITs and NITs.

Why is this counseling body a pivotal part of the admission process?

The main reason for creating this counseling board was to facilitate the admission in the friendliest and hassle free manner and reduce inefficiencies in the admission process. The purpose has been solved for the students who have completely felt it easy to get admission through the counseling process.

Secondly, there are many seats which end up turning vacant after the counseling is done, so to help reduce the inefficiencies in the seat sharing and allocation, this joint body counseling plays an important role. Under this counseling process, the students are not allowed to book more than one seats; however, they can definitely propose the college and courses which they want to avail.
