  1. Tsomgo Lake

Located just 38 km away from the capital city of Sikkim, Tsomgo Lake is the wonderful place to be. Take a cab from Gangtok, it will take you not more than 2 hours to reach the lake.

  1. Yuksom

Yuksom is another lovely place to visit in Sikkim and there are plenty of attractions around for every nature seeker.  The historic Norbugang Park, Tashi tenka, which was a historic royal palace, The oldest monastery of the Dubdi Gompa, Kathok Wodsalin Gompa, the statue of Guru Padmasambhava, Goechala Trek, Khangchendzonga National Park. Bagdogra is the nearest airport to Yuksom at a distance of 12 km to the west of Siliguri. March to June and September to November make for the best time to visit Yuksom.

  1. Nathula Pass


Nathula pass is located in the extreme terrains of the Himalayas and connects India with Tibet. This place is covered under a thick coat of snow for most of the year and sees a large number of tourists and expeditions thronging the place year around. This pass sits atop 4,310 m above sea level makes for a strategic part of the prehistoric Silk Road. No second thoughts, this place is certainly the best place to visit during any time of the year as it continues to be glorious and beautiful year around. With its low temperature and lower atmospheric pressure this place could be difficult to ascend, it is therefore required to take a cognizance for the body and see that you are in top fitness to ascend this place.

Nathula Pass is certainly one of the most extreme places to visit in Sikkim. Some of the key attractions of Nathula Pass are Yak safari, Border Gates of India and China, war memorial, Exhibition Centre of the Indian Army, and Mt Chomolhari. Oxygen levels at Nathula Pass are low, and you can also get stuck in long traffic jams because of the adverse climatic conditions. From Gangtok, Nathula Pass is 4 to 5 hours journey by bus (54 km) while the nearest railhead is Siliguri which is located 165 km away from Nathula Pass. May and October are the perfect time to visit Nathula Pass. During this time of the year, this place opens for Indians, exclusively from Wednesday to Sunday.

  1. Lachung, Lachen and Yumthang Valley


Lachung, Lachen and Yumthang Valley make for a major part of the trip to Sikkim. Some of the major highlights of the place are the journey from Lachen to Gurudongmar Lake, Gurudongmar Lake, rhododendron bloom, Lachung Gompa, Lachung Monastery, local handicraft, Lachung Village, Mt Pandim, Mt Kabru, Mt Khangchendzonga and Mt Siniolchu en route to Gangtok Rhododendron Sanctuary.

These popular activities and sights define the true charm of Lachung, Lachen and Yumthang Valley stretch. March–June, and December–January make for the best time to visit Lachung, Lachen and Yumthang Valley. This time of the year experiences heavy snowfall.

  1. Ravangla

Ravangla is another popular place to visit in Sikkim. Some of the popular attractions of Ravangla are Tathagata Tsal, a Buddhist park, Mane Choekhorling Gompa, and Pang Lhabsol, which is a fine display of religious prayers and songs, other popular hikes, and treks.  Jalpaiguri is the nearest station from Ravangla which is 94 km far.   1. Zuluk


This place looks absolutely dreamy after the fresh snowfall. Nag temple, lovely view of Mt Kanchenjunga and Thambi View Point are some of the most popular attractions in Zuluk for every tourist. Hire a cab ride from Jalpaiguri railway station to reach Zuluk which is located 91 km far. August and September are the best months to visit Zuluk.
